WHERE IT BEGAN
The smell of ink.
The rhythm of the press.
My publishing journey began at age seven in our family newspaper business. I set type on a hot-lead Linotype for short articles and birthday greetings, and carried freshly folded newspapers across the building for subscriber labels.
The smell of ink and the rhythm of the press became my first language. That early experience grew into a lifelong fascination with how stories reach readers.
The tools have changed. The care that goes into making a publication has stayed with me.

I founded an on-demand publishing company. Over the course of my work, I produced more than 4,000 published books for others.
Words, photographs, sound, and video.
My work expanded into interactive multimedia publishing, bringing these elements together in a richer digital reading experience.
A storyteller on both sides of the page.
After helping produce books for others, I turned to writing my own. I write cozy mysteries under the pen name Roxie Maxx.
